TOP Mobile MUST KNOWS for Hump Day Sept 4th, 2013

TOP Mobile MUST KNOWS for Hump Day Sept 4th, 2013

Where do we even begin.. well first of all, Samsung has released a new smart watch called the "Galaxy Gear".  As far as I'm concerned, this market still has a ways to go before consumers are going to actually get a real benefit out of owning a smart watch.  Not to say that people won't want one, but the way these watches are being designed are just not practical.  If we're talking innovation, then let's take a look at some of the recent mock-ups that have come about over the last little while.. mainly, the one that showed Apple's "iWatch" as an actual Wrist Band.

Unfortunately the wrist band and its features looked so far-fetched given the technology that we have available today that I don't think we can expect to see them in Apples first edition of the iWatch.  If anything, we'll probably be expected to jump up and down over an stretched out iPod-nano with access to the app store, wifi, and then some.

In any case, below is a look at Samsung's new Galaxy Gear, expected to be available September 25th (If you just can't wait then Sony has had their Smart Watches out for some time).  Enjoy.

The second thing, briefly - Sony's new Lens-Type Cameras, the DSC-X100 and the DSC0QX10.  I can't really describe how cool these are, so take a quick look at the video below.

Actually, while you're at it take a look at this one too.

Ok, ok - enough with the funny stuff.  Seriously, for all you Glass Holes out there.. I wanted to let you know that Google has announced that they will be launching their own App Store for Glass next year, according to Times.  As to whether or not it will be integrated with Google Play, that is yet to be determined.

NEXT BIG THING.  Believe it or not - Microsoft has officially purchased Nokia for a solid $7.2 Billion.  Microsoft plans to license Nokia's patents and acquire its devices and services business, according to Mashable.

The iPad Mini 2 may actually have Retina display, take a look at the video below to see more.

Apple has also sent invites out to Chinese Media for a "special event" on Sept 11th.  This could in fact be the iPhone Launch date we've been waiting for, as they've also announced an event on September 10th in Cupertino stating, "This should brighten everyone's day".

Stay tuned tomorrow for another glimpse as to what's going on in the mobile industry!
