Retail Mobile Marketing spend to hit $55 Billion by 2015
Dr Windsor Holden at Juniper Research said,
“If retailers truly want to maximize the mobile monetization opportunity, then optimization is critical. If you are using mobile advertising for consumer acquisition, you need to push users to a site with which they can comfortably interact; retailers that fail to respond to consumer demand will fall behind.”
With that being said, according to Juniper Research retailers are to spend $28 Billion on mobile marketing campaigns in 2013. The analyst notes that in addition to smartphones; tablets have also created new ways for brands to engage with consumers, while other e-commerce desktop/laptops become more mobile-based.
While there is much buzz around Augmented reality, NFC, and coupons many companies still don’t offer mobile sites, registration, or payments.
