January Smartphone Subscriber Share – Google Down, Apple Up

January Smartphone Subscriber Share – Google Down, Apple Up

ComScore’s January 2013 numbers arrived today showing that Google (and everyone else) is losing ground to Apple.  For the first time, Android (Google) dropped to 52.3% from 32.6% in October.   Apple meanwhile, is up to 37.8% from 34.3%.  Between the two, they make up more than 90% of the device share.  Upon deeper speculation it could be found as odd that because the top 3 U.S. carriers (AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint) report iPhone to make up anywhere from 66-85% of activations, it would seem Apple’s market share would be substantially higher.
