Average U.S. User Spends 2 1/2+ Hours on Their Mobile – Flurry

Flurry (who does App Analytics) has  reported that the average U.S. mobile owner spends around 2 1/2 hours a day using their iOS/Android smartphones and tablets. That being said, 80% of time is spent on apps.  The report further indicates that 85% of consumers prefer mobile apps over mobile websites, and the data from Flurry suggests no different. Flurry found that 80% (of the 2hrs and 38mins) of the time is spent inside apps, with the mobile web being consumed for the remaining 20% or 31mins.

While games still reign the most popular with 32%, Facebook took 18%, and entertainment 8%.  As Flurry celebrates their 5th anniversary since launch  they’ve also released the data that its services have added to over 300,000 apps, with more than 1 billion sessions per month.
