2 Billion users in the Next 2 Years.

2 Billion users in the Next 2 Years.

At least that’s what the ‘word on the street is’. And.. maybe also according to Google CEO Eric Schmidt,  where Android could soon be boasting more than 1 billion users in the next 6-9 months.

Who at the Mobile World Live conference also said,
“The two billion mark could be met within a year or two.”

Schmidt also stated that there are currently over 750 million android devices in use today, and an additional 1.5 million activation’s every day.  If that is the case, then it will be interesting to see how Apple’s alleged iPhone 5s (or cheaper iPhone) perform in the emerging markets while Google aims to deliver a similar low cost device.  Personally, I think if Google can meet these projections that will put Apple in an interesting position, and THEIR repercussions will be of more interest.
