Smartphone Shipments up 36.2% in Q1

The smartphone market’s growth is mainly attributed to the strong demand of LTE handsets in North America as well as some other developing regions around the world, and that of 3G demand in emerging markets.
Samsung accounted for more than 33% of the market having shipped 69.4 million devices. Apple followed in second with 37.4 million devices shipped, at 17.9% market share.
In third place LG had only 4.9% with 10.3 million shipped devices. Huawei came in close behind in fourth with 10 million devices shipped, at 4.8%.
