Facebook alters Messanger App to compete with WhatsApp

According to Chitika Insights, over the last 6 months (May 27th-Nov 27th) iOS has averaged around 65% while android stands around 35%.

Most recently, Chitika revealed that iOS is up to 67% while android is back down to 33%.

On another note..

Facebook announced today that it has decreased the requirement for its Facebook Messenger app that allow users to create Messenger accounts with only a name and a phone number.

The change brings Facebook Messenger into the company of other SMS-replacement apps such as WhatsApp and LINE. Users can now message contacts with just a phone number, as well as share photos with them.

Facebook rolled out the update to its Messenger app for the Google Play store today, but will be rolling out Messenger accounts over the next few weeks.
