Best Day to Release your App

Best Day to Release your App

If you’re thinking about releasing your APP

anytime soon

..it may be worth noting that you should if possibly DO NOT release on Thursdays.  Ok, so maybe no one will DIE – but – trust me, I’m going to tell you exactly WHY in just a a second.

It’s been known for a while that every other day EXCEPT Thursday has benefits (according to Chartboost).

Wednesdays have traditionally shown to be the most popular release day because it’s the day before Apple updates their ‘featured lists’ on iPhone, iPad and iTunes App Stores.  Traffic is at its lowest on Thursday, generally 7% percent below average in terms of impressions, and install rate is 3% below average. Not to mention cost per click cost bids increasing 3% above average.

The best days for people to buy stuff, including apps are….

THE WEEKEND!

Tomorrow actually.

Friday is on average for traffic and installs but ad impressions increase 2%.

Saturday tends to be about 7% above average for traffic & installs and ad impressions increase 14%.

& Sunday also is about 4% above average for traffic & installs and ad impressions increase 10%

Despite the fact that you get more impressions PPC bid prices don’t really increase that much: Friday up 2%, Saturday up 4%, and Sunday  0%.

So if you’re looking to do a campaign with Tapjoy, FreeAppADay, W3i, Aarki, etc.. You probably want to start it on Friday so you can reap the rewards of Fri,Sat, and Sunday.

Best,

Kevin
