YouTube Capture – Coming to an App Store near you.

YouTube Capture – Coming to an App Store near you.

The YouTube Capture app will let you record a video clip and immediately afterwards write a caption, select the networks you want to share to, and publish. One noteworthy feature the app has is that it will continue to upload your video in the background even after you minimize the app! Additionally, you can set the usual YouTube privacy settings (private, unlisted, and public). The app also has the usual YouTube enhancements such as: color correction and stabilization, while also letting you “trim the length and add free background music from YouTube.” The most interesting thing here is that the app not only lets you upload your videos to YouTube – it also supports simultaneous uploads to Google+, Facebook, and...

iOS 6 Adoption grows 29% after Google Maps release.

iOS 6 Adoption grows 29% after Google Maps release.

Seriously. Apple Maps was that bad.   MoPub Ad exchange that supports over 12,000 apps saw a 29% increase in unique iOS 6 users just five days after Google Maps for iOS hit the App Store. Despite that fact that only 0.2% (According to Chitika) of people decided to jump on board immediately within 48hrs (over the weekend) Which by the way.. had over 10 million installs in the first 48hrs.   MoPub’s CEO went on to say,   “we observed since the launch of Google Maps for iOS 6 a 30 percent increase in unique iOS 6 users, and we think it’s related to Google Maps. It verifies the hypothesis that people were actually holding back to upgrade until Google Maps was available.”   Needless to say, with Apple’s embarrassment aside, this opens up the doors for more people to jump on board the iPhone 5 band wagon knowing they have a dependable maps app...

How to increase referral rates by 300%

Before you can even think of optimizing your app performance you’re going to need something to help you manage al the data and metrics. Something like.. Apsalar’s FREE mobile analytics product: AppScience. Moving forward (assuming you at the least have that in place now) you can take these insights in and implement them as well. 1) Choose a mobile specific provider This will be able to best help track and answer these critical, mobile-specific business questions. You’re not dealing with Google Analytics here. Mobile app tools like AppScience should not be considered ‘in the same boat’. 2) Define Which Events to Track When setting up your mobile analytics, define which events to track by examining your business goals. As to what you want to track, and what you want to do. an example could be, increasing user engagement. To do this, you’d need to track the right metrics, but first solidfying your audience by (lets say) isolating your users who have opened the app at least 5 times. Then...
