Apple thinking of Acquiring TomTom

Apple thinking of Acquiring TomTom

Well, after the incident on Monday regarding the Australian Police saying that using Apple Maps could be potentially “life threatening” I don’t blame them.   TomTom has been around for a while, and they’re also one of Apple’s main partners in providing data to its Maps App.  Robabobank analyst Hans Slob went on to say today that,   “there is a 30 percent chance Apple seeks to takeover TomTom in trying to make quicker improvements to its controversial new Maps app”   “TomTom needs the cash from Apple, and Apple needs the know-how of TomTom,” according to  Slob, estimates are that Apple would be willing to pay a price of as much as 10 euros per share for the supplier.   TomTom climbed 7.2%, an eight-week high, to 4.12 euros today, and it currently sits at a value of approximately 906 million euros ($1.18 billion...

iPhone 5s Analysts Predictions

iPhone 5s Analysts Predictions

“Apple will release an iPhone 5S in June, a break from the pattern it’s established over the last two years”   said Jeffries analyst Peter Misek in a note this morning.   Other predictions Misek has are..   There will be new:   super HD camera/screen improved battery life NFC (near field communication)   with a possibility of..   IGZO screen for Retina+ 128GB storage and a variant of new colors (6-8 to be exact) There is also speculation and rumors already going around about the iPhone 6, sources saying,   “Several iPhone 6 prototypes appear to be floating around. The model with a 4.8″ screen is the most interesting. It has a Retina+ IGZO screen, a new A7 quad-core processor variant, and a new form factor with no home button. Full gesture control is also possibly included.”   Whether much, or any of the latter portion of this is true or not has yet to be confirmed as you may guess – for technology analaysts it’s very hard to predict...

LEAKED iPhone 5S Images

LEAKED iPhone 5S Images

Could this be part of the new iPhone 5S? Ok, well maybe they’re not the photo’s you’re looking for, but thy are photos nonetheless.  The folks over at electronista were the first to encounter the photos today.   The only real depictable differences from the images are the repositioned screw holes for the logic board.  If the image is in fact that of a new part, (not a discarded prototype) then it’s likely that the iPhone 5s will be less different than the iPhone 4s was to the iPhone 4. At the same time, I shouldn’t speak to soon, I’m simple talking about design after all, not hardware or anything else.   Digitimes did claim however that trial product of the new iPhone 5s wold begin this month with Full-scale production supposedly starting as early as next year.  There is must controversy on the matter given that the iPhone 5 just made its debut back in September.  If Apple is looking to accelerate the iPhone’s update cycle (as they’ve done...

Yeah – 25%  for 50% of App Revenue On Apple App Store and Google Play !   As if we didn’t already realize that the competition was fierce.  But,  who would have thought it was this fierce?   According to surveys by Canalys  these 25 developers accrued $60 million from paid-for downloads and in-app purchases over this period.   Needless to say, the majority of the top grossing apps are in-fact games, and of those – the majority are Freemiums.   Canalys noted:   During the same period, games accounted for 145 on average of the top 300 paid apps in the Apple App Store and 116 of Google Play’s top 300 paid apps. Games also accounted for 94 of the top 300 listed free apps for Apple and 110 for Google Play.   According to their analysis: Developers who are not making games have an upward battle in getting noticed, and monetizing their app. We all konw discoverability is a huge issue.     Canalys Senior Analyst Tim Shepherd...
