iMac Delay no-more. New Apple iMacs still on track for late November, and December

iMac Delay no-more. New Apple iMacs still on track for late November, and December

Earlier last week..   I wrote an Article about the possibility of the new apple iMacs possibly being delayed until next year due to welding and assembly issues.   Sources via 9to5 say that Apple has already begun shipping the new 21.5″ iMacs to distribution hubs across the United States and several other countries across the world.  The same sources expect the 21.5″ iMacs to be available to order online via Apple’s online store by the end of the month.   The 27-incher also appears to still be launching next month in December and there is  a large probability of both of them appearing on the Apple Online Store at the same time.   It should be noted that during Apple’s latest earnings call,  CEO Tim Cook went on to  say that: “On the iMac we’ll be constrained for the full quarter in a significant way… there will be a short amount of time to manufacturer and ramp those and I expect demand to be robust… we will have a significant shortage.”  ...

Apple App Store reaches 1 Million Apps | But is it really 1 million?

Apple App Store reaches 1 Million Apps | But is it really 1 million?

As of Today, Monday November 19th, 2012.   Apple has approved more than 1 MILLION Apps in the App Store. This is according to App Store discovery company Appsfire, and was announced this morning via twitter. Congrats!!   Co-founder of Appsfire Ouriel Ohayon told The Next Web that,   “Of the one million app submissions since 2008, 493,289 were paid and 158,848 were games. Of the 736,247 apps that are currently live 336,270 are paid (around 45 percent), while 120,065 are games (around 16 percent). The app count includes iOS apps only and doesn’t account for Mac App Store apps.”    While it’s unlikely Apple will make a press release disclosing the achievement, it’s still an accomplishment worth recognizing.  The Store itself is accessed by a large percentage of Apple’s 400 million iTunes account holders, accounting for 35 billion downloads in it four year life.   Apple has historically seen developers remove their titles from the App Store and has been forced to uphold copyright notices (also removing infringing apps and generally policing its storefront).  Because of this,...

Let’s get started…   #1 Cygnett   The folks over at Cygnette continually amaze me with the ability to make great cases for a great price.  Their designs are usually very trendy, modern, and durable.   And I think those are the types of designs people are looking for.   Without having to spend a fortune..   Below is one of my favorite designs they have, because I think it’s very clever.       #2 Speck Products Has traditionally shown to create durable products that are both unique and durable.  There prices are also pretty reasonable.  Additionally, some designs their for the iPad mini I thought were pretty creative. Apple picks up 1,024 former Nortel patents from Consortium

Apple picks up 1,024 former Nortel patents from Consortium

Apple, which led a coalition of tech companies ..that include: Microsoft, Sony, Ericsson and RIM (Rhythm in Motion) to outbid Google has recently acquired over 1,000 patents from Rockstar Bidco. At this time (back in August of 2011) Apple bought the Nortel patents, putting up just over half of the $4.5 billion winning bid.   This equates to a 58% stake in the consortium, which inldues 4,000 former Nortel patents now has 1,024 patents, 695 currently registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office, while the rest are in the registration process. It’s unclear at this time as to how many of the patents are related to telecommunications, securing the rights will likely aid Apple as the company continues its legal battles with rivals outside the consortium.   At this time it’s also unknown whether Apple has paid any of the other coalition memers for the rights to “cherry-pick” some of the patents or if there have been an agreement to cross-license the patents it has taken. The Nortel patents...
