Chartboost Store Now in Closed Beta for iOS, Android and Unity

Chartboost Store Now in Closed Beta for iOS, Android and Unity

Chartboost, the cross-promotion network for mobile developers, with over 16,000 games in their network and 6 billion game sessions every month has recently announced it’s launching a new back-end service that will power in-app purchases and stores inside mobile games. The “Chartboost Store” is said to make it easier for companies that wish to add new items and adjust pricing on the fly without having to go through the inconvenience of doing an update. Additionally, the new store will provide developers analytics as to which items from the store are performing the best to adjust accordingly. While many large game developers already have these technologies there is a large crowd of smaller indies who don’t. At present the company says 5 people are already using their store, and it’s in closed beta for iOS, Android, and Unity. While it’s free for now, Chartboost will ask for 10% of revenue share when the product officially launcheds later this year. This equates to 40% when you account for Google or Apple’s...

Facebook Announces Update to Mobile App Install Ad Unit – Mobile App Marketing

Facebook Announces Update to Mobile App Install Ad Unit – Mobile App Marketing

So then, what the heck does that mean to you? Well, as an advertiser – this means you can more quickly and conveniently create mobile app ads with just a few clicks. This means that Advertisers can now create a mobile app install ad just by writing their copy and providing their app’s URL on the App Store or Google Play. This new process also makes it easier for developers to get their ad up and running by removing the step of first having to register their app with Facebook. According to Fiksu who reported on the changes earlier this week, and also happens to be big fans of Facebook’s Mobile Install Ads, “In our opinion, the Facebook mobile app install ad unit provides a great, granular way for advertisers to effectively reach the highly qualified Facebook audience of over 750 million mobile users.” also adding, “To date, the best results we have seen from the Facebook mobile app install ad unit have been derived from consistently optimizing and...

How to Get 1 Million Downloads for $0.

Let’s do it. 8 Ways to Get 1 Million Downloads for $0.   1)Why should people play your game? This is of course the most basic, but arguably the most over-looked question developers need to ask themselves. Asking this question: “Why should anyone play this game?” is the place you should start before reading anything else. If it is the case that you’re aiming to create an action title that offers fast-paced, exciting combat – then you may want to put a deal of emphasis on the battle system itself and iterate until it feels as though something that is dynamic and responsive compared to what’s already out there. This is not to say that you have to go and reinvent the wheel, but there should be an obvious beneficial distinguishing factor. Note: There’s not point in adding bells and whistles if...

KakaoTalk Hits 100 Million Users

KakaoTalk Hits 100 Million Users

Certainly a milestone to be celebrated, the South Korean-based social messaging app Kakaotalk has recently logged its 100 millionth user registration.  The achievement comes almost exactly 3 years and 3 months after KakaoTalk launched in Korea. Kakao itself claims the platform’s growth can be attributed to the company’s innovation. While Line (a competitor to Kakao) still flaunts more users than KakaoTalk does, the addition of 10 million users in a little over a month is certainly closing the gap. Additionally, it makes evident the popularity of these emerging social networks in Asia.  Although, it should be mentioned that both Line and Kakao are  starting to grow their presence in European countries such as...
