Tap for Tap – Get Users Make Money

Tap for Tap – Get Users Make Money

Ok, before you go off thinking that Tap for Tap is just another app discovery service, I should start off by telling you that – you’re right.  But there’s more more to it.  Really.  If there name alone was indicative how how their service works, then maybe it’s worth mentioning that: Tap for Tap gives app developers two cost-effective ways to promote their apps and a simple way of generating ad revenue in one easy-to-use platform.   The best thing to do of course, would be to download their SDK, select the style of ad units you’d like to show in your app then just decide how you’d like to get be compensated with the Earnings Preference slider (below).   By selecting “Get Users” and you’ll earn credits for taps and installs on the tap exchange.  Selecting “Make Money” will of course, provide you monetization from the network.  The best part is, it’s not a black and white scenario.  You can also choose to be “in the middle” of...

In App Purchases to top $3 Billion on Tablets $6 Billion for Smartphones by 2016

According to Juniper Research’s latest report Tablet Gamers alone will spend $3.03 Billion on in-app purchases in 2016. Crazyness. If the prediction is true, this will represent a ten-fold increase on the $301 million that tablet gamers spent in 2012. The surgely undoubtedly is largely due to the rapid tablet adoption and acceptance of in-app purchases with consumers. Only 2% of Top iPhone Publishers in U.S. are Newcomers, 3% on Google Play

A new report from Distimo released today has revealed that only 2% of the top 250 publishers in the iphone App Store are “newcomers”, vs 3% on the Google Play App Store. Evidently, also only 0.25% of the total revenu from the top 250 applications goes to the new iPhone app publishers, while 1.2% reaches new Android app publishers on Google Play. If you’re a newcomer, chances are – initially, you have a better shot at making money on Google Play. Distimo examined the trends in the iOS App Stores and Google Play from October 2012-January 2013. Unfortunately, having a time frame that occurred over the holidays slightly skews the data, because of Power Week which is extremely temporary. Below are the top 10 new publishers by App Store: iPad, iPhone, and Google Play. It can also be observed (in the image below) that the revenue share of Googe Play compared to Apple is close to 5% higher (12% vs 17%). It’s also important to mention Downloads, and actual...

Additonally, there are an estimated 1.2 billion mobile gamers. The real exciting stuff though is the growth of iPhones, iPads, and their Android counterparts. When it comes to app consumption on both iOS and Android smart device consumers spend over 40% of all their time in games. 5 Tips for Making Your Game Stand Out in A Crowded App Marketplace

It seems like every-single-day someone comes along with “5 more tips” on how to get your app to stand out.  Fact of the matter is, there are countless things you can do to make your app stand out amongst the competition.  Today we’re going to focus on some new ideas that haven’t been covered in the past, some that will hopefully get you to think about your over-all strategy before your app hits the store.   Let’s get into it.   1) Be different Sure there’s a ton of games that are basically clones of other games, but you know the really, really, really successful ones like Minecraft, CSR Racing, Infinity Blade, etc.. all drew from inspiration but inevitably brought something new to the table which allowed them to cut through the massive competition and succeed.   2) Decide on a monetization model early Because, to be quite honest, premiums, free games, and freemiums are all entirely different.  Many arcade-style games for instance don’t fit the freemium model well...
