81 Billion Apps and counting..

81 Billion Apps and counting..

Well at least that’s how many apps have been downloaded from the App Stores since 2008 (when the industry got started). 89% of them come from their native apps stores too. Smule has officially released the coolest app ever created. Strum.

Strum allows you to shoot 15 second clips and create musical sensations with the push of a button. Seriously. Currently, the app has more than 20 different filters, including several themed filters for the holidays. Evidently Smule realized that.. “what makes services like Instagram so powerful is...

Top 10 Apps in the US | Top Grossing and Top Downloads

App Annie has released its latest findings for Top Ranking Apps in the US for Downloads and Top Grossing.  They have a couple charts for both Google Play and the Apple App Store.   See below.   Appstore Top Apps     Needless to say, going from Paid to Free always boosts downloads.  If users can save a buck, they’re going to do it.  Especially when the average cost per download in the App-Store is..well, $1.  This was the case for Sky Safari. Their temporary move to free pushed its rankings higher — and they continue to stay high, despite now switching back to being a paid app.   Another noteworthy app riding the trends of the viral sensation Gangnam Style, is: Gangnam Dancebooth which has made its way into spot #4.     As for Top Grossing, Clash of Clans continues to dominate the rest of the freemium based apps out there.  I’m guessing it has to do with them updating their Avatar to include a Santa hat. ...
