Tyra Banks App – Smize

Tyra Banks App – Smize

Ok..   So generally, I wouldn’t write an article on this type of app just because I’m not a girl, and frankly these types of apps don’t interest me; nor do they glean any insights I can re-articulate in a deliverable fashion for those of you reading.   But..   I do have a friend who’s launching her app within the next 4weeks that is essentially a makeup app for women and so I thought I’d look into the Smize App to see if it’s anything similar or how well it was actually put together.   And to be honest..   I am quite shocked as I sit here writing this with the iTunes Screenshots in the background window.  For someone who has such a high budget I would have expected better graphics and a more appealing UI.  While I’m certainly not going to pay $1.99 to download that app as it has no value to me whatsoever this is how Smize is described in the iTunes store:   While it...

Lovely App – Not only a ‘Lovely’ name but is an App by LiveLovely

Lovely App – Not only a ‘Lovely’ name but is an App by LiveLovely

Startup Lovely was co-founded by Blake Pierson and was launched in March of 2011 just released their first iPhone App.   I look at Lovely as.. A Lovely name, and a Lovely platform (and now App too!) to help apartment hunters find their ideal pad while they’re on the go.  Pierson said,   “You need to be on the hunt the entire time,”   That is especially the case if you’re trying to land a place in the Marina district of San Francisco. In addition to having:   A stable income that makes the Landlord feel comfortable & A pleasant demeanor   If you’re a guy you may want to also consider..   Having a sex change Getting a yoga matt buying some lulu lemon pants. …don’t forget the latest iPhone. I digress.  Back to what I was saying!   Pierson’s App replicates many of the great features of the Lovely desktop platform with the primary differences being that it’s on a smaller screen, and the interactions happen to be quicker...

Mobile App Analytics – Best Tips and Tools

Mobile App Analytics – Best Tips and Tools

It’s important to measure user behavior. ..and there is a variety of  app analytic platforms and services providing you with good app data; to do just that.   The tips to follow will help you avoid some expensive mistakes.   1) Using Analytics can help with your market research By using tools like TestFlight you have the ability to learn what your users really like and refine your app before putting it out for the world to see on the App Store.   2) Design for your Users not for Yourself Fact of the matter is, your users may not use your app the same way you do. ..and  it goes without saying that this can certainly be frustrating when developers spend countless hours planning their users “experience” and “flow” through the application only to discover the users might not use the app in the way you had anticipated or intended.   This is why it’s so important to get unbiased feedback from users. Apple permits up to 100 users to be authorized...

Foap App lets you make a comissions off your friends Photos

Foap App lets you make a comissions off your friends Photos

Users can sell their iPhone images for $10 each Not only that, they can make money off their friends photos as well.   Beginning next week users who invite their friends to download Foap will be able to earn a 10% cut of ALL their future sales.   Here’s how it works..   Users upload or take a photo from their phone’s “camera roll” or “album” and submit it to the Swedish startup for approval.   If, and when approved the images go live in the Foap Market and each sales is split 50-50 between the users and Foap.   Since launching in June, Foap has been downloaded close to 150,000 times and has had around to 1.4 million images uploaded into the Foap Market.   What do you think of this revenue model?   I think it’s very innovative and can’t wait to see how it looks for them 6months from now.  ...
