Today, App Analytics company App Annie has announced its Open Beta of Amazon Appstore support for App Annie Analytics and App Annie Store Stats.  This now gives developers the options to push their apps onto: iOS, Google Play, and – Amazon.  Here’s a look at how the UI Looks: To get started, you just simply log in to your App Annie Analytics, and click “Add Account” where you’ll see the popup (below), selecting Amazon will then prompt you to enter your account information.   Just as App Annie Store Stats has helped you become an expert on the iPhone, iPad and Google Play trends, you can now browse the Amazon Appstore top charts to uncover the next big stories before anyone else. Analysts Reactions to How Galaxy S4 Will Affect Apple

Now that things have died down a bit, in-case you haven’t already heard, Samsung officially unveiled its new flagship Glaxy S4 smartphone last night with their ‘theatrical broadway-style’ presentation in New York. Today, analysts are quick to jump in with their opinions of what this means for apple.  Closing at $443.63 today, there stock doesn’t appear to have taken much of a hit.  Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray’s is one who is not the least bit immpressed with the S4 upgrade, but did note Samsung’s new ‘S Band’ as being “a quick first pass for Samsung on wearable technology ahead of Apple’s watch”.  Also adding that he expects Apple to launch a Smart Watch (iWatch) by 2014,   “The Galaxy S4 appears to be largely an incremental update to the S3 including a slightly larger screen (4% larger on diagonal), better camera and processor, and updated software, but largely the same body style and casing. Tablets Upstage Smartphones Across All Mobile Ad Campaigns

A new report from Adfonic has found that  tablets outperform smartphones on both fronts of direct response and branding mobile ad campaigns. According to the report, (which is based on billions of ad impressions from across Adfonic’s platform) click through rates (CTRs) on tablets outperform smartphones for branding campaigns by an astounding 250%.  Additionally, Adfonic’s AdSnap report revealed that tablets trump smartphones for direct response campaigns. Lastly, the report suggests that the typical daily profiles of tablet and smartphone users are complementary, with tablet users more active in the evening and clicking more throughout the day, while smartphone users are both more active and more likely to click mobile ads in the early hours of the morning.   To find out more on what’s driving mobile search/usage check this...

New Apple Patent Could Finally Bring Wireless Charging to Tablets

A newly published patent reveals Apple’s designs for a Smart Cover that could use inductive charging to wirelessly power its iPad(s). The protective cover described in the patent would be able to, “wirelessly pass power to a corresponding inductive power receiver unit disposed within the tablet device” by coupling magnetic elements.   It was also mentioned that, “useful power can be supplied directly to a tablet device by way of a protective cover that can be placed in close proximity to a surface of the tablet device.”   To summarize, “In the described embodiments, the body portion includes an inductive power transmitter arranged to wirelessly pass power to a corresponding inductive power receiver unit disposed within the tablet device by inductively coupling, at least a first magnetic element, and at least a second magnetic element used to secure the body portion to the display in a closed...

Google Study Finds 28% of Mobile Searches Result in Follow-up Conversions

Google in partnership with Nielsen has released a report that dives into the metrics of what’s driving mobile conversions.  Some highlights to start off would be: Mobile search is always on, happening on the go, at home and at work. 77% of mobile searches occur at home or work, while 17% is on the go. Mobile searches are strongly tied to specific contexts – shopping queries are 2x more likely to be in store.  3/4 mobile searches trigger follow-up actions, whether it be further research, a store visit, a phone call, a purchase or word-of-mouth sharing.  On average, each mobile search triggers nearly 2 follow-up actions.  Mobile search triggered follow-up actions also happen very quickly, with 55% of follow-up actions taking place in the hour.   The methodology used in the study was as follows: Step 1: Mobile Search Diary 416 respondents were invited to log any type of mobile search in the moment, via Nielsen Life360 survey app on their mobile or tablet, for up to 14 days. 6,303 searches...
