PreApps to bring App Previews to End Users

PreApps to bring App Previews to End Users

If you’re developing an app your biggest concern, (and probably what keeps you up at night) is: whether or not your app will be a hit.  Or how it will be received by users. Good? Bad? Not at all?  Without launching your app and releasing it onto the Apple App Store, or Google Play marketplace (what have you) there is no way to really “tell” how users are going to take it, and whether or not they will actually like it. Heck, maybe they even have good feedback you could implement while you’re still in development before the app hits the store. Yeah, it’s a shame..there hasn’t been a way to do this. UNTIL NOW   Introducing, Pre Apps With over 1.2 millions apps currently on the market and over 30,000 new apps submitted each month, PreApps is the exclusive place to preview new and exciting apps coming soon. PreApps aims to, “forever enhance the relationship between mobile app developers and mobile app users, which will in turn create...

Retail Mobile Marketing spend to hit $55 Billion by 2015

Dr Windsor Holden at Juniper Research said, “If retailers truly want to maximize the mobile monetization opportunity, then optimization is critical. If you are using mobile advertising for consumer acquisition, you need to push users to a site with which they can comfortably interact; retailers that fail to respond to consumer demand will fall behind.” With that being said, according to Juniper Research retailers are to spend $28 Billion on mobile marketing campaigns in 2013.  The analyst notes that in addition to smartphones; tablets have also created new ways for brands to engage with consumers, while other e-commerce desktop/laptops become more mobile-based. iPhone captures 51.2% of US Smartphone market – Android Users up 10%

After reading  earlier today about how Apple’s iPhone accounted for 6.2 million of Verizon’s 9.8 million (63%) activation’s it was discovered that only 651,000 were the iPhone 5.  This may be due to the fact that the device was only sold for 1 week in the quarter.   Overall, new data released by Kantar Worldpanel revealed that iOS stands at 51.2% vs 44.2% Android.  Kantar also noted,   “…36% of iOS sales were derived from other smartphone users over the last year. While this figure remains stable over time, the proportion of Android users moving towards the Apple brand increases. 19% of iOS sales over the last year were derived from Android users, compared to 9% in 2011,”   The majority of these ‘switchers’ are said to have come from Verizon.  With 49% of new iPhone sales from previous users of other OS’s,  30% came from Android.  AT&T continues to lead as top carrier with 33.3% of smartphones sold in the 12 week period, while Verizon sits at a close...

Apple App Store to have 435K New Apps in 2013

But how many of these Apps will go into the ‘App Graveyard’.. where many, many, many Apps wonder, waiting for the day their creators will revive them to become the App they were created to be.  Mobile analytics firm and ad network Adeven released a new year-end report today which reveals several key findings. One of these finding is of course, that the iOS App Store is looking to grow an additional 435,000 apps this year (on top of the 790K+ apps available for download).    This will be a substantial increase from 2012 which had 380,000.  According to Surikate however, 81% of UK visitors stop browsing after checking out the top 50 apps.  This is decrease in viewership is likely due primarily as a result of Chomp’s acquisition prior to iOS 6 when they implemented the new UI to the app store.   Adeven also found that most apps were likely to go un-noticed with 64% of apps not even securing a ‘ranking spot’ for the month of December, thus...

We never were and we are not a one-trick pony”.     Who also mentioned that their network contains near 200 Million devices.   While not known for having the most distinguisable titles in the space, Storm8 was early to market to both the Android and Amazon platform, and they are a company that is able to hammer out games more aggressively that some competitors.  App Analytics Site released a report which included Storm8 as the 9th biggest game developer by revenue on iOS with only 40 Apps.   The larger the reach, the less mone spent on CPA.  Having 40 Apps also gives them the ability to implement things such as...
