Kamcord in app Game Recorder

Kamcord in app Game Recorder

Kamcord.

I can’t believe I didn’t come across these guys sooner.  Actually, I have a similar idea (that I won’t get into) but I think this is one of those apps that is truly noteworthy given what it’s able to bring to the market place.  Particularly to developers who are looking to get in-game footage of their games so they can create teasers or previews for their potential audience.

Kamcord (basically in a nutshell) allows  users to record and share their awesome gameplays. Without having to leave their games.

Get more installs from people that see your game on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Currently available for cocos2d and Unity3d on iOS. More game engines coming soon!

To take a look at history of similar things that have been done in the past for web platforms I vividly remember FRAPS (with an R).  This was actually one of the first screen recorders gamers could use to record their game play to show off to their friends.

Then, shortly after, came Xfire  which brought together gamers from across the boards and essentially created a “gamers chat” platform so they could contact each-other to play games, or get on to a different game.. etc.  Any way, this is clearly just being mentioned for you to get ideas of where the market is heading.

Back to Kamcord..

As shown in the video above, it easily allows you to record the on-screen footage of the game you’re playing and save it in a relatively easy way.  All you have to do to get access to their developer keys is head on over to their site and enter your email address.
