Mobile TV and Video Revenues to reach $9.5 Billion by 2017
According to Juniper Research, the company has predicted that, with the more than 2 billion people will be using mobile to view TV and video by 2017 – revenues are expected to double (2013’s projection of $4.5 billion) hitting $9.5 billion. Collectively, North America, Western Europe and the Far East and China, and generate 80% of the total revenues.
At the same time, with the World Cup and the Olympics taking place in Latin America in 2014 and 2016, they’ll be one to keep an eye on for Mobile TV usage as well.
It is said that this growth can be attributed to users becoming more familiar with streaming as well as many paying for subscriptions or pay-per-title, via Netflix or iTunes.
