Celtra has unleashed new findings showing that engagement levels have nearly double in Q3 of 2012. Engagement levels for location-based features in rich media mobile ads grew by 185 per cent in the third quarter of 2012, Celtra’s quarterly Mobile Rich Media Monitor Report has revealed. The report reveals that engagement rates for rich media mobile ads have continued steady growth, with the average ad engagement rate in Q3 reaching 13.7%. As of today, music artist PSY’s “Gangnam Style” video has reached a milestone of 1 billion views on YouTube. Earlier today one of social gamings biggest giants closed off their Japan division. In a statement unveiled earlier today it is said that, Zynga will be closing its Japanese offices by the end of January. Kenji Matsubara, the chief executive officer of Zynga Japan, made the announcement on his Facebook page, then updating their Japanese website to reflect the coming closure with this statement Notice of dissolution of a Japanese corporation Thank you for patronizing Zynga Japan. Kantar Worldpanel ComTech reports that Apple has today; achieved its highest ever share in the US (53.3%) mainly over the last 12 weeks, with the iPhone 5 helping to boost sales. Industry estimates reported to eMarketer show that mobile ad spend will increase 180% from where it was last year in 2011. ComScore also recently revealed that smart phone penetration in Europe has reached 55%.
