In a nutshell.. AppTrace (which is FREE by-the-way) provides ‘sentiment’ analysis for the App Store’s 24 million reviews. AppTrace also lets users search by title for apps available on the App Store and see how user reviews score it in terms of three key criteria: positive feedback, addictiveness, and crash complaints. Additionaly, it provides insights on how user feelings on each of those scores change over time, so that developers can monitor how changes affect reviewer sentiment. One of AppTrace’s findings.. ..is that most apps don’t even have reviews. 529,895 without VS 257,229 with. The good thing is that at least (for the one’s with reviews) is that most...

5 tips for optimizing your app economy 1) Confused people do nothing. So don’t overwhelm your users. Instead, you should display a small amount of virtual items (about 6) and give hints that more content can be “unlocked” after players achieve new levels. Why 6? Take notes from online retailers, specifically Amazon, and how they display search results. There’s a reason Amazon only shows 4-7 search results on a screen (depending on resolution) without requiring you to scroll. Implementing this concept to your game will prevent players from becoming overwhelmed and allow them to better interpret the items available. Silhouette’s work as a great hints for players....

Marketing Hangouts – Internet Users vs Campaign Leaders A recent poll conducted by Pitney Bowes Softwarehas made it clear that. If you’re (you or your business) not on.. Facebook & YouTube You’re missing out. If you’re not on twitter, then you can slide a little bit, as more people are on there attempting to generate potential leads (57%) vs the internet users who are actually on the platform (31%) Google+ As well, with 22% of internet users using the platform, and 51% of ‘marketing decision makers’ using it as a branding tool, it almost seems like a waste. Surely you can derive more from the chart...

The End of Social Gaming It’s not too often I write an article that can completely and utterly dissuade and discourage you, or others from moving towards your goals in creating a mobile app, which may in fact be a game. But after reading a very interesting article I felt I needed to write my own to get my thoughts out there. It goes without saying that people have gone overboard with adoration for a slightly new genre of games that were really not all that new to begin with. In reality, these “games” are just re-makes of other games that have had their time in the spotlight...
