Smule has officially released the coolest app ever created. Strum.
Strum allows you to shoot 15 second clips and create musical sensations with the push of a button.
Seriously.
Just how you would go about adding a filter on Instagram, Strum has built-in filters for video that don’t just change the look of your video, they give it a soundtrack as well.
I can certainly foresee Strum as being the next app to hit the top of the Free charts. Smule (the creators of Strum) has also released AutoRap, Sing!, and magic piano.
I just downloaded the App myself, it’s quite hilarious.

Any way, strum’s filters instantly transform your video clip into a musical sensation with almost any genre you can imagine. Soundtracks are customized for the particular footage you’re using, so even if you use the same filter on two different videos the results will vary. Currently, the app has more than 20 different filters, including several themed filters for the holidays.
Evidently Smule realized that..
“what makes services like Instagram so powerful is not only their ability to make photos look better, but also the sharing experience in the app.”
“One of the goals in creating Strum was to not only make videos that looked and sounded great, but also to create videos that users would want to share. Videos you create using Strum can be shared within the app itself, via email, and through Facebook and Twitter.”
You can get Strum on the Apple App Store here.
I suspect they’ll be coming to Google Play in the near future.
Check out the video below to get an idea on how it works.
Thanks! It took me a few rewinds but I got it!! 1st song I’ve ever leaenrd to play You really broke it down nicely and explained it all so well .and in a way that didn’t make me feel dumb or spoken down to. Can’t wait to check out some more of your lessons. And THANKS again
Great vid! Thanks! I’ve been having a lot of tbroule learning how to strum (or is it pluck) the strings , because I have never taken a formal lesson. Watching the close-up was really helpful. I think it would be easier, if I wasn’t a guy with big fingers. Guess I’ll have to keep practicing!
