Test Flight Alternative – KickFolio app testing service

Test Flight Alternative – KickFolio app testing service

Kickfolio is opening up its app testing service to developers today. In a nutshell  Kickfolio offers a way for developers to upload builds of their mobile applications to its platform, allowing others to then interact with the apps on the web, vs having to download a test build locally to their mobile device.   There are certainly competitors in this marketplace like: TestFlight, Pieceable, and AppSurfer – so it’s not like they don’t have their work cut out for them, but here’s what makes them different.   Kickfolio’s  uses HTML5, whereas Pieceable (for instance) playable apps were rendered in Flash.   Edward Dowling CEO and co-founder went on to say,   “Their solution was great, but it was not terribly performant,”    “In wanting to build a full-featured platform, we recognized that we needed to get the dependency away from Flash.”   With Kickfolio’s new product, developers can upload a simulator build of their iOS application to Kickfolio.com, fill in some details and then they’ll receive a link to their...

Tapjoy continues to lead the way in device threshold

Even with Tapjoy’s former CEO Mihir Shah resigning last week or so,  Tapjoy has announced that its network has ‘crossed the 1 billion device threshold’.  They’ve also added more than 500 million devices in these last 8 months alone.   Also, despite major controversy, with many parties criticizing Tapjoy’s network – (for incentivizing consumers to download other apps within its network with rewards such as virtual currency – for manipulating app rankings).   New CEO Steve Wadsworth had this to say,   “This achievement is just the beginning for Tapjoy. As our advertiser and developer partnerships continue to grow, this number will continue to skyrocket and further cement Tapjoy as the global leader in mobile app discovery and monetization.”   Good for...
