Rise of the Angel Investor [INFOGRAPHIC]

As a start-up founder, co-founder, or entrepreneur maybe you have imagined how awesome it would be to go into an event and be able to instantly tell through some devine magic who were the exact people you needed to talk to give your company the financial jumpstart it needs.  Maybe you thought that the only way to obtain these types of ‘magical’ talents was through learning as much as you can about the industry, (particularly fund-raising and all the types of ’rounds’ that accompany it so you could impress your prospective investors with the language you think they expect you to know) what types of business models exist, what types of traffic channels deliver the best results, and so forth.. ..Certainly..these are all good subjects that should be studied as a start-up founder/entrepreneur. ..But.   What if there was an easier way?   ..I imagine that right now you’re feeling a bit like Alice. Tumbling down the rabbit hole? I can see it in your eyes. You have the...

Google aims to have self-driving cars in next 5 years

Google aims to have self-driving cars in next 5 years

Despite the optimism, the company faces tough challenges from regulators and insurance companies before it can be put into production, with safety concerns and other legalities being the main stumbling points. Makes sense, I mean – how do you insure a robot driving a car? What if my robot car – driver, crashes into your robot – car – driver? Who’s to blaim? Maybe there was a glitch? In any case, Anthony Levandowski, a product manager at Google working on the project said,   “the company hopes that the system’s improvement on society could lead to cars that drive safer than people do,”   Dan Smith the associate administrator for vehicle safety at the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said,   “the agency would need to create new standards for self driving cards, as well as a methodology for testing.”   The driving systems would have to work out what to do if a part of the car breaks while in transit, (not like as a human we...

How much do people spend on Superbowl commercials?

Isn’t that the question we all wonder?  The question that sits deep within our cerebral cortex that we ponder for what seems an eternity as our retinas our filled with entertainment.   It certainly is the question that I wonder myself.   How much do people spend on these Superbowl commercials?   Really. As you can see, for no apparent reason the cost of running Superbowl ads has been rising since 2008.  What’s interesting to note is that, 74% of people look at these commercials as pure entertainment.  Another 19% believe that brands should just give the $ they spend on these...
