App Trailers moves beyond just “App Trailers”

App Trailers moves beyond just “App Trailers”

AppRedeem recently updated their AppTrailers app to allow users to watch TV show trailers to earn points (and eventually rewards) for watching.   The new “TV” Section on the app also allows you to set reminders in-case you wanted to watch a trailer prior to viewing the actual show on TV.  While it doesn’t appear TV Networks are paying to promote these trailers yet, CEO Sheffield Noal mentioned in a discussion with TechCrunch that the company is,  “in talks with a few networks to promote their TV shows,”.  In the meantime, the primary focus is to test engagement, which thus far – looks very promising.   AppTrailers as of writing has 8 million members bringing in revenue in the ‘high 7 digits’ and profits in the ‘low 7 digits’. Nolan also makes the strong case that AppTrailers is different from incentivized downloads.  Users are rewarded for watching the trailers, not the actual installs. You can download the AppTrailers App...

Moglue – The Simplest Way to Make Your Own Interactive eBooks

Moglue – The Simplest Way to Make Your Own Interactive eBooks

Certainly this writeup is long over-due.  I had a chance to connect with some of the Moglue team late last year at GMIC.  Also where I met one of my business partners who runs Global Centrics, a full service app development company.   Whether you’re a joker, a smoker, or a midnight toker.  Whether you’re a picker, a grinner, a lover or a sinner.  Or maybe you’re just a someone who’s been looking to get their book published but hasn’t found the best method for doing so.   Enter Moglue As the video below illustrates.  You can easily use Moglue’s web platform to create animated eBooks that can be used and optimized (no doubt) for mobile devices.  As far as the team behind the company, Moglue’s founders met in May of  2010 at a Start-up Weekend event in Seoul, South Korea. Their team spent three days developing the concept behind what would eventually become Moglue. By end of the third day they had a working prototype. Since their skill-sets...

Magic Solver – The User Acquisition Specialists

Magic Solver – The User Acquisition Specialists

Similar to the likes of AppGratis, AppsFire, Tapjoy, FreeAppADay and the countless others Magic Solver and their team strive to test thousands of apps from talented developers in 5 continents and select a ‘la creme de la creme every day’.  While I was under the impression that one of Apple’s most recent developer updates last year indicated that, “Apps cannot exist for the sole-purpose of promoting other apps”   If it is the case that MagicSolver is relying mainly on their positioning and performance in the App Store, it might be disappointing to later down the road if Apple mandates they change their business model or take the app out of the app store.   It is worth mentioning however, Magic Solver has helped a large number of well branded companies which include: Zynga, Zoopla.co.uk, BooYah!, Gameloft, Z2Life, Sunstorm, TinyCo, GREE, Kabam, PocketGems, Playmesh, Ngmoco, Playdom, CBS | Interactive, and the like.. Magic Solver  also boasts the following stats: 2 million FreeAppMagic users, who have saved over $16 million getting...

Tap for Tap – Get Users Make Money

Tap for Tap – Get Users Make Money

Ok, before you go off thinking that Tap for Tap is just another app discovery service, I should start off by telling you that – you’re right.  But there’s more more to it.  Really.  If there name alone was indicative how how their service works, then maybe it’s worth mentioning that: Tap for Tap gives app developers two cost-effective ways to promote their apps and a simple way of generating ad revenue in one easy-to-use platform.   The best thing to do of course, would be to download their SDK, select the style of ad units you’d like to show in your app then just decide how you’d like to get be compensated with the Earnings Preference slider (below).   By selecting “Get Users” and you’ll earn credits for taps and installs on the tap exchange.  Selecting “Make Money” will of course, provide you monetization from the network.  The best part is, it’s not a black and white scenario.  You can also choose to be “in the middle” of...

AppVillage creates an opportunity for all – Calling all Appreneurs

Maybe you have an idea.  Maybe you have the coding know-how.  Maybe you have the eye of a designer.  It could also be that you just have a boat-load of cash that you can’t think of a better opportunity to invest in.  Whatever the case may be, App Village has a a place for you.
